”Young citizens working actively for Europe“.

Here is an article from our school Magazine, which will be published next week. (we can take with us a few copies for the Documentation. it's in italian but it's partly the translation of what Christoph & Andreas & Rudi wrote:

The topic of the forthcoming 16th Intercultural Seminar at St. Marienthal is ”Young citizens working actively for Europe“.
In recent years Europe had to face a number of severe challenges testing its members' sense of community and solidarity. It is crucial to bring to mind the merits of a united Europe. Only by persuading the young generation that they and their country benefit from being members of the European Union will we be able to create the solid basis which is necessary to cope with difficult times.

The second part is the way we want to translate the pre-seminar task.
We would like you to work on the ways in which young people can participate in shaping the religious, social and cultural and life of Europeans.

In the Year of Faith the students of the Institute Santa Giuliana Falconieri want to be living stones, to build a Europe who never forgets its christian roots, remembering them and putting into practice in everyday life the Word of Jesus Christ:
"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, which built his house on a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell not: for it was founded on a rock. And every one that hears these sayings of mine, and does them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, which built his house on the sand (Matthew 7:24 )

Il tema del 16mo seminario interculturale a St. Marienthal, dall'8 al 15 settembre 2013 è “Giovani Cittadini lavorano attivamente per l'Europa”. Negli ultimi anni l'Europa ha dovuto affrontare una serie di difficili sfide che hanno messo alla prova il senso di comunità e di solidarietà dei suoi membri. È quindi cruciale tenere bene in mente i meriti di una Europa unita. Solo persuadendo le giovani generazioni dei benefici che i cittadini ed il Paese possono ottenere dall'Unione Europea, si potranno creare delle fondamenta solide, indispensabili nei tempi difficili.
Nell'anno della Fede gli studenti dell'Istituto Santa Giuliana Falconieri vogliono essere pietre vive, per costruire un'Europa che non dimentica le sue radici cristiane, ma le rende ogni giorno attuali nella Parola di Cristo Gesù:
“Perciò chiunque ascolta queste mie parole e le mette in pratica, sarà simile a un uomo saggio, che ha costruito la sua casa sulla roccia. Cadde la pioggia, strariparono i fiumi, soffiarono i venti e si abbatterono su quella casa, ma essa non cadde, perché era fondata sulla roccia. 
Chiunque ascolta queste mie parole e non le mette in pratica, sarà simile a un uomo stolto, che ha costruito la sua casa sulla sabbia. Cadde la pioggia, strariparono i fiumi, soffiarono i venti e si abbatterono su quella casa, ed essa cadde e la sua rovina fu grande» (Mt 7,26-27).
